Are used Gaylord boxes strong enough for heavy loads?

A Grade A used bin in the right wall construction performs essentially like new — 4- and 5-wall used stock still carries 2,000 lb and up. Strength comes from wall count; grade tells you how many trips are left in it. Problems come from buying too few walls, not from buying used.

When do I actually need new Gaylord boxes?

When something outside your own building requires documentation: certified ECT or Mullen burst numbers, food-contact liners, export compliance, or consistent print for a customer-facing shipment. Those are the minority of loads for most operations.

Can I order used and new on the same purchase order?
